Why you should use these templates

There is great value in having a consistent Cal Poly brand expression, including our Web pages.  The value to the campus is that our viewers recognize and relate to the Cal Poly "look," making them feel part of the Cal Poly family.

The benefits to our colleges and units are numerous (see below), including saving money on Web design and being compliant with CSU policy, as well as California and U.S. laws related to ensuring that people with disabilities have equal access to university information and programs.

The President has delegated authority to the Vice President for Advancement to ensure that the campus visual identity requirements are respected in both print and electronic formats.

The President has also delegated authority to the Vice Provost for Information Technology/Chief Information Officer to ensure that accessibility requirements are adhered to in all campus electronic communications and IT products and services.

Web sites in which the template structure (XHTML), layout, or design (CSS) has been fundamentally changed cannot be supported by Information Technology Services and may become inaccessible.

We strongly recommend you use the Web page templates for all official campus Web pages, without modifying the look or feel of the Cal Poly identity.
